Latvian Rollerski Championships next weekend in Madona
On 19 and 20th July Latvian Skiing Association together with society “A-Madona” is going organize first stage of the Latvian Rollerski Championships, which will be also a test fo the World Cup, that is going to take place in Madona next year.

Two days competition will include 200m sprint in classical technique in the streets of city Madona on the first day and 6km and 10km distance in free technique with interval start on next day in famous skiing and biathlon centre “Smecersils”, where the stage of Scandinavian cup in Cross-Country skiing has taken place the last four years.

Latvian championships in rollerskiing is organized every summer in Madona and Priekuli, but this time the stage in Madona will be more special, because the FIS Rollerski World Cup is scheduled for the next summer to be held in “Smecersils” track in Madona.

On Saturday, July 19, the best sprinters will be decided. 200m sprint event in classical technique will be held in the streets of city Madona. Sprint will start with one qualification run and 12 best will qualify for the semifinals, where they will be split into two heats with six athletes in each. Three fastest from each heat will go through to finals. Distance competitions - 6km for ladies and 10km for men in free tecchnique is scheduled on July 20 . That will take place in “Smecersils” track on the course designed four years ago.

Also several youth and junior groups will compete separately, including the younger S12 and V12 groups, representatives of which are born in 2003 or later.
