Franziska Steffen retires
After twelve years on the World Cup circus Franziska Steffen (SUI) has called it a warp.

The 33-year-old who was the first ever Swiss woman to win a World Cup ski cross event (2004) struggled with ongoing back problems in the recent months and therefore decided to step back from competition.

In her career, the assistant tax consultant was able to podium seven times of which one was a win in Pozza di Fassa, Italy.

In addition, she represented her home country at the 2005 world championships and the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver.

Above that she was able to place first, second and third at national championships.
