Something extra in Zakopane
Over the course of four years, World Snow Day has had in excess of 1.7 million participants. Despite the excellent participation, many children still miss out on the chance to explore, enjoy and experience snow due to serious illness.

For the 4th edition of World Snow Day, Organisers in Zakopane (POL) included a mobile blood bank at its event. Participants and event staff took the time to donate blood which was then passed on to the local children’s hospital.

Head of Organising committee Agnieszka Adamczyk commented: “The idea was that the healthy children will enjoy, explore and experience during our event and the parents will have an opportunity to help the ones, who could not be with us.”

Following the conclusion of the event volunteers also visited the nearby orthopedic hospital to hand out gifts and prizes to the children.
