Antonin Hajek of the Czech Republic has surprisingly decided to end his ski jumping career.
"I would like to announce that I will end my career. There are multiple reason for that. The bad results in the last competitions and constant health problems, that made it impossible for me to fully train during the past months lead to this decision.
I would like to thank the association and all the coaches, that supported me since I was a child. I have experienced many great moments in this sport, that I love since my childhood, and I'm happy that I could be a part of the World Cup team for 12 years. The biggest thank you goes to my parents, who invested so much time and effort so I can achieve my goals", the 28-year-old is quoted on skoky.net.
Antonin Hajek made his debut in the World Cup in Liberec 2004, his best results were two fourth places 2010 in Sapporo and in a ski flying event in Bad Mitterndorf. At the Olympic Games in Vancouver 2010 he was seventh from the large hill, in the same season he finished eighth in the Ski Flying World Championships in Planica. The athlete of Harrachov holds the Czech national record in ski flying with 236 m.
