Stian Sivertzen awake again

According to an update of the Norwegian Snowboard Federation (Snowboardforbundet) Stian Sivertzen is on the upgrade.

“I really appreciate all the attention which really helps me going through this hard times,” the fifth ranked rider of the Sochi Olympic Winter Games is quoted.

The 26-year-old can talk and also walk a few metres again but still has to fight the mysterious infection which forced him into coma over the last couple of weeks.

As a result, the 2013 world championships bronze medallist is still depending on medication and has to stay in the University Hospital for two additional weeks at least.

Doctors are reported to need that amount of time to check how things develop. In addition, it's still not clear how long it will take for Sivertzen to be fully recovered.
