Daniel Andre Tande: Comeback in Hakuba

Daniel Andre Tande will return to the Norwegian team for the upcoming FIS Grand Prix in Hakuba (JPN) next weekend.

The 22-year-old was sidelined recently due to a stress fracture in his leg and could not compete in any of the events so far this summer.

Besides the seventh of last winter's overall World Cup, Andreas Stjernen, Joachim Hauer, Andres Fannemel, Halvor Egner Granerud and Joacim Oedegaard Bjoereng will represent Norway in Japan. While Granerud and Bjoereng will get the chance to compete against the world's elite again after their good performances this summer, Johann Andre Forfang prefers to train at home instead.

Head coach Alexander Stoeckl considers the competitions in Hakuba an important preparation for future tasks. "We use these competitions as some sort of a "time zone training". In winter we will have World Cups in Sapporo and PyeongChang, the Olympic Games 2018 will be held in PyeongChang. This week is a good test when it comes to such long trips. We are looking forward to the competitions and hope that we will get a confirmation that we are on the right track", the Austrian is quoted on the website of the Norwegian Ski Association.
