Sustainable future for World Championship 2019 venues in Seefeld

Sporting venues and facilities are a key resource for sports enthusiasts, from amateurs to professionals. The international stars of Nordic Sport have been competing in world-class stadiums in Seefeld and Innsbruck, which were updated for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 to fulfil all requirements for top-level competitions.

Besides the Four Hills Tournament, which will take place in Innsbruck next winter and the FIS Nordic Combined Triple in Seefeld in January 2020, hobby athletes will also have the opportunity to actively enjoy these facilities during a major international event.

The Winter World Masters Games 2020 will take place next season at which around 2,000 medals will be awarded in 12 sports/disciplines with 24 age groups, including all Nordic disciplines such as Cross-Country Skiing, Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined and Biathlon, which all will be held in Seefeld.

Taking into consideration both social and economic factors, the Winter World Masters Games 2020 will form part of a sustainable long-term future for the Masters World Championships and set new standards when it comes to the facilities and infrastructure for Masters sport.

As such, the sport festival will offer a new perspective for hosting international competitions for athletes in the Masters age class. As well as Seefeld, the Winter World Masters Games 2020 will also take place in Innsbruck (Olympiaworld and Patscherkofel), Telfs and Kitzbühel (Sportpark).
