It's a milestone day for Shiffrin in Levi

American ski star Mikaela Shiffrin picked up where she left off last year, taking another slalom win to open the 2018-19 women's World Cup season. Shiffrin also became the first woman to win four times in Levi, adding to her successes in 2013, 2016 and 2018 and consequently, she earned her fourth reindeer.

But, it's not over, and the records are not finished here; with today's win, Shiffrin beats the all-time records set by Ingemar Stenmark with 41 slalom victories.

Slovakian skier Petra Vlhova wasted no time in confirming her status as Mikaela Shiffrin's main rival as she took a slim lead over Mikaela Shiffrin in the opening run by 0.13, but she crashed out early in the second giving the podium space to Wendy Holdener.
The Swiss Skier was sixth in the first run, and she has had a solid second run that permitted her to achieve her third podium in Levi.

Surprises are not finished with Katharina Truppe (AUT) concluded third to reach the podium for the first time in her career.

The men take over the Levi Black slope on Sunday for the opening race of their season. The ladies now move on to Killington (USA) where they will contest giant slalom and slalom next weekend on 30th November-1st December.
