The hero of the Cross-Country Skiing World Championship Marit Bjoergen (NOR), who won 4 "gold" medals and one "silver", earned 50 000 euro.

The Norwegian Ski Association announced the prize money before the World Championships. Prizes are distributed the following way: 1st place - 98 000 NOK, 2nd place - 61 000 NOK, 3d place - 37 000 NOK.

Bjorgen earned 378 000 NOK (50 000 euro) for her medals.
