The 30-year-old, who was often struggling with serious injuries during his career, had to undergo yet another knee surgery a couple of weeks ago and will therefore not compete next winter.

"The most important thing is now to get the operated knee in a good condition again", Happonen told the Finnish newspaper Savon Sanomat.

Despite these problems, the Finn has not made a final decision yet whether this also means the end of his career. "I didn't end my career, but I will not jump this season. We will see what happens after the rehabilitation."
