Simon Ammann back in training
Simon Ammann is on the mend after his fall in the final event of the 4-Hills-Tournament in Bischofshofen about three weeks ago.

The Swiss is already able to do physical training again, but so far he could not start with the jumping training yet.

"Physically I feel better and better and the bruises in my face healed well. The first training sessions in the gym also went well, but my concussion forces me to take it slow. I'm making progress, but I still need time. Of course I want to start jumping again as soon as possible, but in order to do that I need a physical foundation first and my concussion needs to be completely healed", Simon Ammann is quoted in a media release of the Swiss Ski Association.

"In the planning of the training we speak to the medical team regularly and take it step by step. We have to adapt the plan to the recovery process of the concussion", said head coach Martin Kuenzle. According to the team doctor Walter O. Frey it's still unclear how long the break will be for the 33-year-old. "How long the recovery takes after such a serious concussion is completely different from case to case. That's why it's impossible to make predictions concerning the schedule. Usually it takes longer than the athletes hopes."

Nevertheless, it's still possible that Ammann will be able to participate in the World Championships in Falun in February. "But it's still a long way to go", said the four-time Olympic Champion.
