The second-to-last event of the parallel slalom World Cup season takes place next Saturday, January 30th, 2016, with the world's best raceboarders taking over one of the world's great capitals for a city event under the lights.

In Moscow, Russia a parallel slalom will be staged on a massive purpose-built ramp whose giant but slightly altered scaffolding slope will be built just outside the city centre at the Krylatskoye Sports Centre like last year again.

This season's pen-ultimate psl marks the 6th stop of the alpine snowboard World Cup circuit in Moscow which has become a tradition-rich event over the recent years with consecutive annual psl competitions since 2010 – only interrupted by the 2014 Sochi Olympic Winter Games.

And with athletes from the hosting nation playing a major role again in this season's battle for the World Cup titles, the single-run format, night-time parallel slalom will even be more exciting for the fans.

Right now, 2011 Moscow winner Ekaterina Tudegesheva, who has had two third rank and one first place finish this season so far, is looking good in the race for the psl title sitting in second position with 1,360 points, only 90 points behind of Olympic pgs champion Patrizia Kummer (SUI, 1,450) who has also triumphed in Moscow once (2012).

And the 2007 world champion from Tashtagol is also the main pursuer in the overall alpine snowboard World Cup ranking with 2,560 points, just 230 less than Ester Ledecka (CZE, 2,790) has earned so far.

In addition, at least four more riders of the team coached by Denis Sagaev are traveling back home hoping to keep the momentum from last weekend's Rogla parallel giant slalom which saw reigning world champion Andrey Sobolev triumphing and two-time Olympic champion Vic Wild earning the third rank. In addition, Elizaveta Salikhova and Stanislav Detkov, the 2013 Moscow winner, finished in fourth position.

But with this season's results given, the local heros have to face some strong competition with Ester Ledecka and Radoslav Yankov (BUL) ready to keep on dominating the tour.

In addition, world champion Claudia Riegler (AUT, 2015), Justin Reiter (USA, 2015) as well as Roland Fischnaller (ITA, 2011, 2012) have also underlined before that they can deal with the pressure on the short course.
