Everything is set for another great snowboard cross World Cup opener in the up-coming season as things are fixed for Montafon which has set the bar for outstanding SBX racing high over the past years.

“The FIS has officially confirmed the date,” said Christian Speckle on behalf of the local Organising Committee.

Things will heat up from December 15 till 18, 2016, with an individual race taking place on Friday followed by the tradition-rich Team SBX event on Sunday.

Especially the Austrian athletes such as local hero Alessandro Haemmerle are looking forward to their home soil event staged on a purpose-built course at Seebliga again: “It's something special to battle for the podium in my home country right at the beginning of the season.”

Besides some thrilling race action which will also features a ski cross World Cup event on Saturday, two music acts have also been signed to round out the winter sport festivities in the most southern valley of the Vorarlberg region: SIDO and SDP.
