Milan to open World Cup season
FIS has officially confirmed the adding of Milan to the 2016-17 World Cup calendar. The capital of the Lombardy region known to be a world's capital for fashion and design will host the up-coming winter's first freestyle snowboard event. Following up a successful visit of FIS Assistant Race Director Roberto Moresi to Milan where he met with Local Organisers, a big air contest will be stage on the same site which hosted the EXPO last year on November 12th, 2016. Milan's second contest in history since Matevz Petek (SLO) won a big air World Cup in the first most populous city in Italy back in 2006 will mark the start of three-week freestyle snowboarding action with weekly big airs following in Alpensia, South Korea and Mönchengladbach, Germany.
