FIS Development Programme Freestyle Ski and Snowboard Training Camp in Landgraaf

A FIS Development Freestyle Ski and Snowboard Training Camp was successfully held in Landgraaf (NED) from 10th-14th October 2016. 24 free skiers and snowboarders from eight nations (BUL, MKD, BLR, SRB, EST, LAT, LTU) benefited from the excellent indoor facilities of SnowPark which is gearing up for FIS Europa Cup competitions in Snowboard slopestyle and parallel slalom this November.

A professional gym, a climbing park, a skate park and a new trampoline park provided excellent additions to the on-snow training. Furthermore, the athletes and coaches took part in various workshops and coaches meetings on topics including waxing and judging.

The aim of the training camp was to improve developing ski and snowboard nations’ own knowledge and competences in order to advance the sports in these nations.

“The athletes and coaches were given the opportunity to exchange experiences and have an inspirational week in a group of peers. They have left as good friends and could establish a valuable network for their careers” said Camp Coordinator Martijn Oostijk.
