Successful FIS Development Programme Training Camp in Silvaplana

The FIS Development Programme hosted a successful Training Camp in Silvaplana (SUI) last week. 16 participants including eight coaches from Brazil, Bulgaria, Estonia, Greece, Latvia, Lebanon, Lithuania and Macedonia participated in extensive on snow training in the events of halfpipe, slopestyle and big air, as well as dryland sessions.

The participants were able to benefit from the knowledge of FIS experts who provided useful tips. They also took part in a number of workshops on topics including waxing, judging clinics and training scheduling.

“It was the second time, the camp was held in Silvaplana and the athletes and coaches were able to benefit from good snow conditions and a great snow park at Corvatsch. In addition to training, the camp had the social component of uniting young athletes from developing ski nations and provided them with a great opportunity to exchange experience. We wish the teams all the best for their competitions as they return home with new skills and techniques”, Martijn Oostijk, FIS Development Programme Coordinator for Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard commented.
