Green light for Kreischberg 2015
With the onset of snow starts falling in Central Europe, the World Broadcasters Meeting and last Technical Inspection took place before the 2015 FIS Freestyle and Snowboard World Ski Championships kick off just 86 days from now in Kreischberg (AUT).

It will be the first time that Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding will be staged at the same World Championships, and with 23 medals on the line, planning for the massive event has required countless hours of preparations by the Local Organising Committee, the Austrian Ski Association and FIS. But with the start of the Championships just around corner, Kreischberg got the green light at the Final Inspection and is ready to welcome the world in mid-January.

“I don’t think anyone can fully appreciate how hard the Organising Committee has worked to get this first combined World Championships off the ground,” said Joseph Fitzgerald, FIS Freestyle Skiing Coordinator. “From scheduling to piste preparation, everything has been well planned and executed and now, aside from some final operational details, we just need to wait for the snow to arrive.”

Alongside the Technical Inspection, Infront Sports and official Host Broadcaster, ORF, hosted a World Broadcasters Meeting, allowing all of the television Rights Holders to visit the venues of the World Championships to plan for airing the events worldwide.

“It was the first time we have held a World Broadcasters Meeting for the Freestyle and Snowboard World Championship,” said Infront’s Manager of TV and Media Rights Anna Banach. “We were very pleased with the turnout and interest and believe that the World Championships will enjoy record coverage globally.”

The Organising Committee also briefed all of parties on details surrounding the World Championships such as transportation, accommodation, accreditation and medal ceremonies.

“We have reached the point of the process where we are discussing the fine details which is an excellent position as it means that the bigger picture items are well planned or already in place.” said Uwe Beier FIS Snowboarding Race Director. “

The 2015 FIS Freestyle Ski and Snowboard World Championships will run from January 15th – 25th and will be held at the resorts of Kreischberg and Lachtal (AUT). For detailed programme information, please visit the official homepage www.kreischberg2015.at
