W. Hofer: "Nizhny Tagil was a great experience"

The first Ski Jumping World Cup in Nizhny Tagil is history, and it was a good debut for the Russian Organizer. This is the unanimous opinion of athletes and officials after the two competitions this past weekend.

"All in all this weekend was a great experience for everyone involved. The facility was in a great shape and especially the spectators were able to create an emotional atmosphere. It proved right that we have a great potential there, and in the future we will try to use it", said FIS Race Director Walter Hofer.

The cancelation of the final round Sunday evening could also not change the positive impression. "Unfortunately the conditions didn't want to play along and so the second round of the second competition had to be canceled. The phases during which jumping was possible became shorter and shorter and so the jury was not able to control the conditions long enough."
