Val Thorens reschedule confirmed, program set
VAL THORENS, FRA - There's light at the end of the tunnel for the FIS Audi ski cross World Cup tour, as a dark December of cancellations is drawing to a close and bringing us to a January that should see us back to racing.

While we're still awaiting word out of Innichen/San Candido, ITA, regarding a possible reschedule of our Italian races, we have now received confirmation of the rescheduled program for the Val Thorens, FRA, leg of the tour.

Two Audi FIS ski cross World Cup races will now be held from January 8-10, 2015, with qualification on Jan. 8, finals on Jan. 9, and a full schedule of qualifications and finals on Jan. 10th in Val Thorens.

Recovering the Val Thorens races is a huge positive for the Audi ski cross tour, as the combination of course construction, organization, and competition exhibited in the past at the French resort has been some of the best seen on the World Cup tour.

Val Thorens was the venue for three World Cup races spread over two visits on last season's World Cup, as the resort was able to step up and host back-to-back races in mid-December to replace two events that had been lost due to adverse weather conditions in other locations.

With it's top-level course design, capable organizing committee, and now, fortunately, some snow, FIS Freestyle now looks enthusiastically to a return to Val Thorens.
