Over 100,000 tickets sold or ordered for Falun 2015 WSC
Everything points to the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Falun becoming a big successful party. Two months from the inauguration and over 100,000 tickets have been sold or ordered. "We have sold more tickets than we had anticipated at this time, for which we are very happy. Many see the World Championship tickets as a perfect Christmas gift," says Sven von Holst, CEO of Falun2015.

The snow guns are booming in Falun stadium. The winter's biggest event on snow is fast approaching is also reflected in ticket sales. Over 100,000 tickets have been sold or ordered for the eleven days of competition. "Our goal is to sell 200,000 tickets to the World Championships in Falun. That we have already achieved half of our goal, we see as very positive," adds von Holst. "Many people buy tickets as a Christmas gift for loved ones. It is a unique experience at home that is easy to purchase on our website, or in the Dalarna tourist offices. The recent attention surrounding the World Cup caps have probably also contributed positively to sales," notes von Holst.

Already in January competitions will be conducted in Cross-country, Ski jumping and Nordic combined in Falun. The races will be tests for Falun2015 and everyone involved. Many top skiers from countries such as Sweden and Norway, are expected to attend the Falun competitions to test tracks and jumps. The current snow-less landscape is not worrisome for Falun2015. "For us our location is perfect for temperatures below freezing resulting in ground frost and allowing for snow to be made. Since artificial snow is more durable than natural snow, we want to use artificial as a base before the natural snow comes. A total of 12 km of trails will be ready for the World Championships. When all the snow cannons are going on full, it takes about a week to produce all the snow needed to World Championship tracks and jumps," says von Holst.
