EUROVISION has been named the official host broadcaster of the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Vail/Beaver Creek (USA), following the conclusion of a deal with the 2015 Local Organising Committee.

Julien Lizeroux, the French Alpine Sking technical specialist and winner of two silver medals (slalom and super combined) at his home World Championships in Val d’Isére 2009 has recently been elected to the FIS Athletes’ Commission.

The first step for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships in Lahti (FIN) has been made with the first Coordination Group meeting, which took place there on 19th and 20th September 2013.

Lydia Lassila recently became a member of the FIS Athletes’ Commission.

The FIS Technical Committee Meetings are just around the corner and will take place at the traditional location of the Hotel Hilton Zurich Airport (SUI) from 2nd-5th October.

Over the summer, the FIS Freestyle Ski World Cup and World Championships Organisers were busy upgrading competition courses and infrastructure to prepare the slopes for the coming season.

It was a big week for the International Olympic Committee (IOC), with three major decisions at last finalised when the IOC Session met in Buenos Aries, Argentina.

The top roller skiers have gathered in Bad Peterstal in the Black Forest of Germany for the Rollerski World Championships 2013 which run from 3rd – 8th September.
