This year’s SportAccord Convention will get underway on 19th April in Sochi (RUS) under the theme of ‘Legacy’. In the gathering of leading representatives from the sport industry, FIS will be represented by President Gian Franco Kasper, Secretary General Sarah Lewis and Marketing Manager Marcel Looze.

Alongside the convention and conference sessions, the Association of International Olympic Winter Sports Federations (AIOWF) chaired by FIS President Gian Franco Kasper will hold its’ General Assembly on Tuesday, 21st April to discuss various common issues to each of the Winter Federations related to the planning of PyeongChang 2018 and Lillehammer 2016, as well as the implementation of Olympic Agenda 2020 and the Olympic Channel.

Originally launched in 2003, the annual SportAccord Convention encompasses the Congress and General Assemblies of over 100 International Sports Federations and their related Associations. The gathering offers more than 1’500 representatives from international sport an opportunity to network, share knowledge and develop ideas on broadening sport’s collective endeavours.
