Sport leaders, International Federations, National Olympic Committees, cities, media, consultants and other stakeholders from the world of sport are currently gathering in the Olympic capital of Lausanne (SUI) for the SportAccord Convention from 17^th-22^nd April 2016.

FIS is represented by President Gian Franco Kasper and Secretary General Sarah Lewis, as well as Communications Manager Jenny Wiedeke and Marketing Manager Marcel Looze at the conference sessions.

Among the highlights of the SportAccord Convention is the debut of the Digital Summit. Delegates will be addressed by industry leaders from Facebook, Twitter and Snapchat as well as the IOC.

Also high on the agenda will be the election of the next President of SportAccord to be determined at the organisation’s General Assembly on 22^nd April. FIS President Gian Franco Kasper has exercised the function of an ad-hoc interim chairman of the SportAccord Council since mid-June last year.

International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Secretary General and IOC member Patrick Baumann and International Underwater Aquatics Federation (CMAS) President Anna Arzhanova are the two candidates vying for the position.
