Hee Beom Lee begins work as PyeongChang 2018 President

Hee Beom Lee, the newly-appointed President of the PyeongChang Organising Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (POCOG), began his role as President this week, heading straight to the venue sites to review the construction progress and briefings on the overall Games preparations.

Following the resignation of Yang Ho Cho on 3rd May 2016, who served almost two years in the position, Lee was approved by the PyeongChang Olympic Organising Committee at its General Assembly in Seoul (KOR) on Thursday, 12th May 2016.

Addressing members, Lee said: “The PyeongChang 2018 Games is a historic project that will showcase the development of Korea to the world and put PyeongChang's name on the map as a major winter sports hub. I will fully devote myself to deliver successful Games in 2018.”
