On the Way to Olympics
Olympic Torch travels by rollerskis for Rio 2016
Brazilian Cross-Country Skier, Jaqueline Mourao, participated in the Rio 2016 Olympic Torch Relay this week using her Rollerskis. Jaqueline is a 5-time Olympian in 3 different sports: Mountain Biker in Athens 2004 & Beijing 2008; Cross-Country Skier in Torino 2006 & Vancouver 2010 and Biathlete in Sochi 2014.
One of the few "real" Tropical Winter Olympic Athletes who grew up never seeing snow until a later age (25 years old in her case), Jaqueline managed podiums in 2 NorAm Cups this past winter and also qualified for the Ski Tour Canada under FIS World Cup criteria (below 90 FIS points). She was eliminated only on the 7th out of 8 stages despite being woken up many times by both her 2 young children having fever during the Canmore races.
