Preparations in Klingenthal in full swing

Three weeks before the qualification for the ski jumping World Cup in Klingenthal, the snow production in the Vogtland-Arena is going according to plan.

The "Snow Factory", that can produce snow also with temperatures above zero, was put into operation already a week ago, by now other equipment is used as well. Marcus Stark, vice president of the ski club VSC Klingenthal: "Since the middle of this week we are having temperatures below zero regularly, especially during the night. This allows us to also use our own snow cannons."

After the organizers had to almost fight for every little bit of snow until the very last minute under sometimes extreme weather conditions, it's easier for them this year. "We are actually relatively relaxed. But it's not over yet, there are still three to go until the World Cup and the weather could change again", Stark continued.

This year Klingenthal is the second stop of the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup, one week after the opener in Kuusamo. Two competitions will be held there on December 3rd (team) and 4th (individual).
