Alpine Youth Cup celebrates 50th anniversary
For the 5th time, young skiers aged 9 to 15 from the five winter sports resorts of Courchevel (FRA), Madesimo (ITA), Saas-Fee (SUI), Schruns (AUT) and Oberstdorf (GER) will fight for top spots in slalom and giant slalom as part of the Youth Cup of the international skiing centres from 7th-9th April 2015 in Schruns (AUT).

The special anniversary of one of the most traditional events for talented youngsters from the Alpine regions will be celebrated in an excellent setting with many athletes, founders and Organisers on hand.

Founded in 1966 by Italian architect Gian Mauro Nova under the name "Kinderspiele", the competition series was renamed to Youth Cup in 1970. Since then, the most talented youth have come together at the end of each winter season to battle it out for victory in the technical events. Many famous ski stars have grown up with the Youth Cup including Pirmin Zurbriggen (SUI), Anita Wachter and Mathias Berthold (both AUT).

The Cup traditionally alternates between the five winter sports resorts of Courchevel, Madesimo, Saas-Fee, Schruns and Oberstdorf.
