Peter Prevc strikes back

Peter Prevc won the second competition on the "Monsterbakken" in Vikersund. With the longest flights of the day on 238.5 m and 230 m the Slovene scored a total of 457.6 points and celebrated his tenth win this season. With 11 more individual competition left this season, the Slovene only needs three more wins to equal the record of Gregor Schlierenzauer. Johann Andre Forfang and Robert Kranjec finished second and third.

Prevc said afterwards: "The jump in the trial round was not that good, but I was able focus in the competition and performed better then. In the final there was a lot of waiting because of the wind. I knew I would need a better take-off. I hope I can perform on a high level again tomorrow. The fall of Jurij Tepes didn't affect me. He was taken to the hospital, but everything was okay. He had some pain in his shoulder, but Jurij is a fighter."

Forfang getting better and better

Forfang took his fourth podium finish this season with 229 m and 222 m and 439.4 points. Forfang said: "It is awesome to jump on such a high level here in Norway. It's also fun to be on the podium. It was difficult in Trondheim, but I'm jumping better every day here in Vikersund. Ski flying is the most fun thing to do. I hope we'll have better conditions tomorrow."

Kranjec, who won Friday's competition, celebrated yet another podium result with 218.5 m and 226.5 m and 429.5 points. "The weekend was perfect so far. I didn't expect to be on the podium after the first round, I was many points behind already. The conditions were difficult with a lot of tail wind. I'm rally happy about the third place", Kranjec told.

Kenneth Gangnes, second on Friday, was struggling with the difficult wind conditions today and with jumps on 235.5 m and 209.5 m he missed the third place by only 1.3 points.

Freund is back

After some weaker results recently. overall World Cup winner Severin Freund was back among the world's elite in fifth with 230 m and 216 m and 425.2 points.

In a, for a ski flying competition, very close field, the German finished 0.4 points ahead of Stefan Kraft, who was sixth. Noriaki Kasai, the best of the Japanese, followed in seventh with 421.3 points.

Outstanding Norwegians

Behind Michael Hayboeck (409.8 points), Daniel Andre Tande (400.1 points), Andreas Stjernen (382.1 points) and Joachim Hauer completed the once again outstanding result of the Norwegian team on the places nine to eleven.

Jurij Tepes was the third-best Slovene in 12th, ahead of Daiki Ito and Simon Ammann. Richard Freitag completed the Top 15.

Taku Takeuchi, who won the qualification right before the competition with 240 m, finished 18th, behind Manuel Poppinger and Anders Fannemel. Roman Koudelka was the best of the Czech team with his 20th place.

Kubacki scored points without long flights
