The new head coach Andreas Mitter named the Finnish team for the 2016/17 season on Thursday.
The two veterans Janne Ahonen and Harri Olli are on the national team together with Lauri Asikainen, Ville Larinto and Jarkko Maeaettae. The Juniors Team consists of Andreas Alamommo, Eetu Nousiainen and Niko Kytoesaho.
"We have to focus on two things: The World Cup and the World Championships at home in Lahti, and the juniors. That's why we need a good and balanced team", said Andreas Mitter, who also wants to create a new team spirit with his new philosophy. "We need time, but we have to work on it every day", the Austrian is quoted on hiihtoliitto.fi.
At the beginning of his job in Finland, the new coach also wants to earn more quota spots again. "Internationally we don't have many quota spots, this means that only a few jumpers can participate in international competitions. One of our goals is to get a higher quota again."
