"This was a great summer for me”, Kot said. “I enjoyed it and I hope the fans did as well. Now I'm looking forward to the winter. The Grand Prix is training on a high level for our main goal, the winter.”

In the famous summer series which saw its 23rd edition, the male jumpers travelled to eight venues – Courchevel (FRA), Wisla (POL), Hinterzarten (GER), Einsiedeln (SUI), Hakuba (JPN), Chaikovsky (RUS), Hinzenbach (AUT) and Klingenthal (GER) – where they competed in eleven competitions.

“The FIS Grand Prix 2016 has been very successful. We have seen very well organised and highly exciting competitions. Many young athletes who haven’t claimed any Top-10 results before have made it to the podium including Tomas Vancura and Voitech Stursa (both CZE) and Kevin Birkner (USA) who landed in the Top-10 twice. Besides, there were six different winners from five different nations this summer including the overall champion Maciej Kot. It will be exciting to see if he can carry his strong performances over to the World Cup level” commented FIS Ski Jumping Race Director Walter Hofer.

The 2016/17 FIS Ski Jumping World Cup presented by Viessmann will kick off on 25th and 26thNovember in Ruka (FIN).
