Final World Cup at Lenzerheide - 2:0 Weather wins...
Lenzerheide, Switzerland, the final Alpine Skiing World Cup was cancelled due to bad weather conditions.

In the morning the fog was above the course, but in the midday when it dissapeared, the rain came. Organizers still decided to hold the men’s race. The first athlete to start, Gaultier de Tessier (France), was hardly not blown by the wind from the course and he said when finished: "I'm just happy to be alive."

In such extereme conditions some more athletes started, but after Klaus Kröll got injured badly the Chief of the competitions Günter Hujara decided to cancel the men’s and women’s starts.
