Winners of Demino ski marathon have been determined
Big Race of Big Russia has taken place! The first Russian Worldloppet Marathon is finished. Among the men Italian athletes won the first and the second places.

 A Russian athlete won the bronze medal. Ladies have made fans happy with a double victory. It was Russian ladies that got the gold and the bronze medals.

About 2500 athletes participated in FT 50 km race. Among the participants were some of the strongest athletes of the world: Alexei Petukhov, Nikolai Morilov, Alexei Ivanov, Sergei Dolidovich, and Sergio Bonaldi of Italy, the winner of FIS Marathon Cup. For the ladies, Antonella Konfortolla of Italy, and Natascia Leonardi Cortesi of Switzerland. The struggle promised to be tense and very interesting.

Along the whole distance twenty main group raced together, but as Russian athletes said, they were trying to get apart as to avoid struggle when finishing. But the fortune of medals was decided several meters before the finish. When approaching the finish Sergei Shiryaev, Russia let the Italian athletes get ahead, so he became the bronze winner of the first Russian Worldloppet Marathon. Alan Martinelli from Italy was the second and Florian Kostner also of Italy, was the winner. They were ahead of Sergei Shiryaev by just tenths of a second. But the Russian ladies have done their best. They took first and third. Natalia Zernova got the bronze medal in a time of 2 hours 46 minutes 13 seconds. The result was 30 seconds better than the result of Ekaterina Rudakova of Belarus. The result of Olga Mikhailova, winner of Demino Ski Marathon was 2 hours 43 minutes 11 seconds.

As the participants of Demino Ski Marathon stated during the press conference, in spite of a difficult the race it was interesting and the level of organization of the competitions corresponded to Worldloppet standards worldwide.
