Sweden dominates home FIS Rollerski World Cup in Sollefteå
Sweden dominated the home FIS Rollerski World Cup in Sollefteå.

After the opening sprints in the town of Sollefteå on Friday, the weekday featured two distance competitions. On Saturday, mass start 4.5 km C uphill race was on the program and the World Cup was concluded on Sunday with an individual start distance competition.

Uphill race on Saturday

Sweden's Ebba Andersson won 4.5 km the junior ladies mass start classic. Jonna Sundling (SWE) was second and Norway's Anikken Gjerde Alnaes was 3rd. Also in the senior ladies category Sweden was successful and swept the podium with Marika Sundin 1st, Linn Sömskar 2nd and Britta Johansson Norgren 3rd.

Russia's Andrey Nishakov broke in the Sweden dominance in the junior men and won the uphill race ahead of Fredrik Andrée and Max Novak in third. Senior men's podium was again fully under control of Swedish athletes as Marcus Johansson led the way in 1st place, Anton Lindblad was second and Robin Norum third.

Distance competitions on Sunday

Marika Sundin powered to the second victory in the FIS Rollerski World Cup in Sollefteå and claimed 1st place in 15 km F +46.17 sec ahead of compatriot Elin Mohlin. Ksenia Konohova (RUS) was third.

Men's race was under full command of Sweden. Anton Lindblad took second FIS Rollerski World Cup podium of the weekend and claimed victory in 20 km Free. Lindlblad stopped the clock in the time of 32:41.28. Jörgen Brink was 2nd, +33.01 back and Simone Paredi (ITA) finished in third place +33.39 behind.

Junior categories were occupied by Russian skiers as they conquered both junior ladies and men podiums. Andrey Nischakov was the winner in the junior men, Vadim Andreev second and Ilia Bezgin third. Maria Kondratenko won the junior ladies competition, Olga Letucheva finished in 2nd and Alena Lipatova took 3rd.
