Two Czech rollerski titles for Martin Jaks
Martin Jaks won two Czech rollerski titles last weekend in Liberec, Eva Vrabcova-Nyvltova and Petra Novakova won on the ladies’ side.

After very good results at German performance tests in Oberhof showed the 28-year old Martin Jaks a solid summer shape at the Czech rollerski national in Liberec. Jaks dominated Saturday’s 15 km free and edged out the runner up Lukas Bauer by a minute. Jaks was also superior in the uphill competition in classical technique on Sunday. “It’s better than expected. Everybody from the Czech team has been here. It is great I could beat Lukas (Bauer) who belongs to World’s Cross-Country Skiing elite,” happy Martin Jaks said.

Due to a tough training program Jaks did not expect so good results. “The summer has been really tough, recently I have taken part in a few competitions, last week I was in Prague to do functional tests. So far I have been dealing with the fatigue quite well. If it goes like this during the Tour de Ski I will be happy,” Jaks said.

Czech veteran Lukas Bauer conquered two silver medals. “On one hand I am sorry I did not win, but on the other hand I did not focus on this weekend and I lost to Martin who has been in an exceptional shape. He was very strong,” Bauer claimed.

Eva Vrabcová-Nývltová won ladies’ 10 km free on Saturday and on Sunday she won the legendary trail running competition in Prague. Petra Novakova then dominated the uphill competition on Sunday. ”I am very happy. Since Oberhof last weekend I have been in full training without a day off,” the new Czech champion said.
