

Swiss Lara Gut claimed her first downhill victory of the season and seventh of her career on Saturday at Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, propelling her to within 30 points of Mikaela Shiffrin in the race for the overall title.


Maren Lundby took the win in the first FIS World Cup competition in Rasnov (ROU). The Norwegian performed jumps to 97,0 and 99,0 meters and scored 259,0 points. Places two and three went to Sara Takanashi and Yuki Ito of Japan.


A photo finish had to decide the victory on the first day of the Nordic Combined TRIPLE in Seefeld. Johannes Rydzek made sensation reality and beat "Mr. Seefeld" Eric Frenzel by half a foot or "my shoe size 44 over Eric's 42" in the end. Italy's Samuel Costa captured his career-first individual podium on rank three, finishing 6.8 seconds behind Rydzek.

Enni Rukajarvi (FIN) and Seppe Smits (BEL), who both had earned the first ever slopestyle world championships title back in 2011, have claimed victory in today's third slopestyle competition of the 2016-17 season which was staged at Seiser Alm (ITA) under a blue bird sky.

For the first time, an American racer won the Kandahar downhill in Garmisch-Partenkirchen (GER), and it is Squaw Valley’s Travis Ganong. Norway’s Kjetil Jansrud finishes in second, while Italy’s Peter Fill takes third place in the replacement race from Wengen (SUI).
