On Saturday January 14th - 1967 the first ever men’s World Cup downhill took place on the majestic and nearly endless Lauberhorn run dominated by some of the most impressive alpine peaks in Switzerland  – the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau - which dominate the valleys of Grindelwald and Lauterbrunnen and attract each year hundreds of thousands of visitors from around the world.

After the positive snow control FIS has given the green light for FIS Cross-Country World Cup in Ulricehamn (SWE).

The 2017 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in St. Moritz (SUI) are set to be a memorable occasion. But for one lucky family they are about to be unforgettable. 

Team AUT1 with Daniela Ulbing and Benjamin Karl have claimed victory in this season's first parallel slalom team event staged under a blue bird sky in Bad Gastein today therefore wrapping up the home soil World Cup stop for Snowboard Austria in style.

Despite being a multiple time Junior and U23 World Champion Russia's Sergey Ustiugov there is still little known about the recent 2017 Tour de Ski champion.  During the 11th edition of the Tour FIS Cross-Country had a chance to catch up with Ustiugov to see what we could learn.

It’s one of the highlights in the ladies’ World Cup calendar: The annual trip to Japan. Four single competitions are scheduled. First stage is Sapporo. With almost two million inhabitants Sapporo is the biggest city in this years´ World Cup calendar.

Daniela Ulbing (AUT) and Christoph Mick (ITA) have claimed victory at the 2016-17 alpine snowboard World Cup season's second parallel slalom which was staged today under the lights on the Bucheben slope.

Audi FIS Alpine World Cup 2016 slalom title winner Frida Hansdotter started the night slalom in Flachau, Austria, with the same lucky number as she had when she last won Snow Space Princess race in 2015 and her last World Cup victory in Lienz: bib 6.

Sara Takanashi also won the second competition on the big hill in Oberstdorf. In partly heavy snowfall in Bavaria the Japanese remained unimpressed with the conditions and set her jumps to 124,0 and 129,0 meters. 263,0 points gave her a more then solid advance of 28,9 points ahead of Slovenia’s Ema Klinec.
