The International Olympic Committee last week announced the launch date for its ground-breaking new media destination, the Olympic Channel, where fans can experience the power of sport and the Olympic Movement all year round.

Proposals for members of the Snowboard Freestyle and Freeski Committee and the four new Sub-Committees should be submitted by the National Ski Associations by 30^th September 2016, using the FIS Committee Member Manager tool.

Norway's Rune Velta, reigning normal hill World Champion, has surprisingly decided to end his ski jumping career.

After the 2-year-construction period of the new hills and facilities was finalised, the Nordic Arena in Kandersteg, Switzerland opened its doors for the first time and held its first international competitions in Ski Jumping and Nordic Combined. 

Ski racers miss the snow during the summer break and the off-snow dryland training, and they can’t wait to go back on the slopes.
