10th May 2016 marked 1000 days until the official opening ceremony of the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships 2019 in Åre (SWE) scheduled for 4th February 2019.

The 50th International Ski Congress in Cancun (MEX) will elect the sixteen members of the FIS Council for the next two-year period from 2016-2018. The member National Ski Associations have proposed the following candidates by the deadline of 6th May 2016:

30th anniversary celebrations in Tignes

On 30th April 2016, a gathering took place in Tignes (FRA) where the Organisers, retired athletes and competition officials participated in the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the first ever FIS Freestyle Ski World Championship France in January 1986.
