

Due to the very difficult weather situation that brings a long competition break this winter, FIS Nordic Combined is breaking new ground on its website, usually dedicated to competition reports, news and interviews with the top stars.

The Nordic Combined World Cup will finally be back in action! The snow control for the postponed events in Chaux-Neuve on the 23rd and 24th of January, 2016 was positive and the 20th edition of one of Nordic Combined’s biggest events can now finally take place.

The 50th International Ski Congress will take place in Cancun (MEX) from 5th - 11th June 2016 and the registration deadline of 31st January is quickly approaching.

On 17th January 2016, the 5th edition of World Snow Day will take place. The 5th edition will include 625 events in 42 countries who have registered to organise activities.

In conjunction with the FIS Tour de Ski in Val di Fiemme (ITA), Gerald Fritsche (GER) was recognised with the FIS Journalist Award on 9th January.

Lindsey Vonn (USA) is in the hunt to break yet another Alpine record as she tied Annemarie Moser-Pröll’s record of 36 career downhill wins with her victory in the Audi FIS Ski World Cup races in Zauchensee (AUT). Vonn followed up her downhill victory on Saturday with another World Cup win on Sunday in the super-G.

The United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) has informed FIS that it will not be possible to hold the FIS Snowboard Cross World Cup competition scheduled to be held in Squaw Valley (USA) from March 10th - 13th, 2016.
