World Cup action returns to Östersund after 20 years - New Inside the Fence

Until last weekend's competitions in Östersund, Sweden the city had not hosted an FIS Cross-Country World Cup since 1995. The World Cup returned with a classic sprint and a 10/15 km individual start free technique competition.

For ladies' ski jumping the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships started on Wednesday with the first official training. 46 athletes representing 14 nations were participating on the normal hill in Falun.

Freund flies to victory, Fannemel to the record

Severin Freund won the second ski flying in Vikersund. Local hero Anders Fannemel, who set another world record on this spectacular weekend with 251.5 m in the first round, finished second and with Johann Andre Forfang and Rune Velta also the third and fourth place went to Norway.

Anna Holmlund (SWE) capped off a huge weekend for the host Swedish squad and Jean-Frederic Chapuis (FRA) made good on his promise from yesterday, as the two fastest skiers from qualifications were able to run the table and take wins in the second Audi ski cross World Cup races of the weekend in Are, Sweden.
Krogh wins two in a row in Östersund

Finn Hagen Krogh has won his second World Cup in two days in Östersund, Sweden. Today’s victory in the 15 km free technique was his first ever World Cup distance win and his third win this season.
