20 years of snowboarding – entering unknown territories

Over the past 20 years, the FIS Snowboard World Cup has traveled the world several times. While it all kicked off with nine venues on three different continents in the inaugural season, two more have been added to the map in the years after.

2014 probably started with a lot of soul-searching for French superstar Jason Lamy Chappuis. After an Olympics not to his taste and a - for his standards - also rather mediocre performance in the World Cup, the question was there: staying or quitting? In this edition of TUESDAY TALK, the 28-year-old spoke about his decision to go on, the goals still left on his agenda and his ideas for a future after Nordic Combined.
Moguls Team Hosts Successful Camp in Zermatt

The U.S. Freestyle moguls team is returning home this week from 13 days of training in Zermatt, Switzerland. Camp conditions were slightly challenging for the skiers, with an icy glacier and a bit of new snow to round out the rock solid moguls

Little bit more than a month is left until the start of the new FIS Cross-Country World Cup season but a few athletes are coping with injuries.
Nordic Combined World Cup

Bryan Fletcher added another jewel to an already star-studded Nordic Combined career, winning his first national title at the U.S. Nordic Combined Championships in Lake Placid. Fletcher parlayed a strong jump to take the win in roller skiing over brother Taylor, who won the roller ski. Adam Loomis took bronze. Despite a career marked by a World Championship medal and King's Cup victory, it was Fletcher's first U.S. title after a host of bronze medals.
Michelle Dekker kicks off European contest season with double win

Dutch youngster Michelle Dekker has celebrated a perfect start into the new winter season. At SnowWorld Landgraaf, formerly known as World Cup fridge, the 18-years-old goofy rider won both races (NC and FIS Race) held last weekend which marked the start of the contest season in Europe. 
Lake Louise withdraws from World Cup

The second Snowboard Cross at Lake Louise (first ever took place Dec 2013) won't take place this season. 
Istanbul to host first-ever Big Air World Cup for men and ladies

The FIS Snowboard Freestyle World Cup might kick off with a halfpipe event in Copper Mountain, CO December 6 and 7, 2014, but Istanbul will provide the season's first major historic highlight.
Peter Prevc and Maja Vtic are new Slovenian Champions

Peter Prevc and Maja Vtic won the Slovenian Championships on the normal hill in Kranj in Sunday.
USA: National titles to Nick Fairall and Sarah Hendrickson

The US national Championships on the normal hill were held on the Olympic hill in Lake Placid last weekend.
