

With the FIS Calendar Conference coming to an end in Portoroz, Slovenia, the starting shot for a Ladies’ Nordic Combined Continental Cup has officially been given. After a final presentation in the Nordic Combined Committee, the rules for the tour were finalised and received their official approval by the FIS Council.

The FIS Calendar-Conference was held this week in the Slovenian coastal town of Portoroz. There the FIS Council also made some decisions regarding proposals which were worked out by the Ski Jumping Committee in its meeting earlier.

The FIS Council held its Spring Meeting in Portoroz (SLO) on Sunday 28th May and dealt with a full agenda, including regular items such as reports from Organising Committees of the FIS World Championships and Olympic Winter Games, the appointment of technical officials, proposals from the FIS Technical Committees, FIS World Cup calendars and updates to various rules.

Athletes of all the FIS disciplines are elected to the FIS Athlete's Commission in order to represent their interests. For Ski Jumping, the representatives are Sarah Hendrickson (USA) for the ladies and Andreas Stjernen (NOR) for the men.

The Italian Minister of Sport Luca Lotti, together with the Italian Ski Federation (FISI) President Flavio Roda and National Olympic Committee (CONI) President Giovanni Malagò, has appointed businessman Alessandro Benetton to lead the Cortina 2021 Foundation.

Under the lights of the coastal town of Portoroz (SLO), the Ski Association of Slovenia welcomed the FIS Family with an evening reception staged under perfect conditions at Grand Hotel Bernardin, where the meetings are being staged.

The statistics from the FIS App have now arrived after its launch in the 2016/17 season and were presented to the PR & Mass Media Committee in Portoroz.
