With a successful World Cup opener in the books, the fastest snowboarders on the planet have descended on Solitude (USA) for the 2016-17 snowboard cross World Cup season's second stop.

A wild week of weather in Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, Austria, finally gave way for the ladies' World Cup tour on Sunday as the speed athletes were able to hold both a downhill training run and race in the same day. 

Too much snowfall on course forced the cancellation of Thursday's downhill training run for the ladies at Altenmarkt-Zauchensee, Austria, and a similar fate struck the plan on Friday. Despite workers clearing the course in time for Friday's training run, heavy snowfall picked up just before racers' inspection and continued throughout the day.
