Elena Koenz and Moritz Thoenen have crowned themselves 2016 Swiss slopestyle national champions in Sils while Sofya Federova and Emiliano Lauzi secured the Europa Cup title.

The FIS Development Freestyle Ski and Snowboard Training Camp 2016 was successfully held in Silvaplana (SUI) from 13^th-18^th April 2016. Twelve participants from Estonia, Serbia, Lebanon and Lithuania benefited from excellent slopes and snow conditions as well as a great snow park in Corvatsch.

Less than a month after the successful conclusion of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals in St. Moritz (SUI), the Coordination Group returned to the Engadine valley for the last spring meeting before St. Moritz hosts the FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in February 2017.

Alongside the SportAccord Convention and conference sessions in Lausanne (SUI), the Association of International Olympic Winter Sports Federations (AIOWF) chaired by FIS President Gian Franco Kasper held its Annual General Assembly on 19^th April 2016 to discuss various common issues to each of the Winter Federations related to the planning of PyeongChang 2018, Beijing 2022 and Lausanne 2020, anti-doping work and challenges together with WADA, as well as the implementation of the Olympic Channel.

Ski manufacturer Elan decided to withdraw from ski jumping with immediate effect. This means that both current overall World Cup champions, Sara Takanashi (JPN) and Peter Prevc (SLO), will have to find a new partner.

The end of the Cross-Country season is expected to witness 12'200 Cross-Country skiers at the start in Geilo for the season-concluding Skarverennet on Saturday, 23rd April.
