


The Olympic Movement has celebrated the International Day of Sport for Development and Peace on 6th April 2016.

From 2nd-5th April 2016, Rogla (SLO) welcomed the world’s best youngsters for the FIS Snowboard Junior World Championships in parallel giant slalom, parallel slalom, snowboard cross and team snowboard cross.

Michael Neumayer (GER) is among the biggest names to announce his retirement after 16 years on the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup presented by Viessmann.

At the of March 2016 German skiing website www.xc-ski.de organised a rollerski test. 61 models were tested and divided in seven categories.

The season is not over yet. Russia’s Tyumen is going to welcome some of the World’s best skiers at the Champions and the Prize of the Governor races, from 9th – 10th April.

Russian snowboarders have played a major role at junior worlds for quite a while now. But since 2014, racers from Mother Russia have been dominating the youngster's major event with authority – just like in 2016 at Rogla.

Verena Rohrer and Iouri Podladtchikov have claimed the Swiss halfpipe title in Laax, Switzerland after the nationals were brought forward by two weeks from Corvatsch and re-scheduled in the super pipe at Crap Sogn Gion due to outstanding snow conditions at site.

With the freestyle snowboard decisions in store, it's now time for the alpine snowboard and snowboard cross talents of the world to battle for gold, silver and bronze.
