Gut wins La Thuile downhill, regains Overall World Cup lead

Michael Hayboeck celebrates his first win this season

Michael Hayboeck won the first of two individual competitions in Lahti. In the competition, which was in the calendar for the World Cup event that couldn't take place in Ruka, the Austrian jumped on 128 m and 129 m and scored a total of 265.4 points
Pinturault takes it all in Chamonix

The 3rd Alpine Combined of the season was staged today in Chamonix. Due to challenging weather conditions, the slalom run has been done in the morning, and the athletes went down the famous „Verte des Houches“ downhill in the afternoon.

Passing of Michael Sachs

FIS was saddened to learn about the passing of Michael Sachs (AUT) who died on Friday, 12th February 2016 after he collapsed in the finish area of the Audi FIS Ski World Cup in Crans Montana (SUI) two days earlier. Born in 1973, Michael Sachs has served as a team doctor for the Austrian ladies’ World and Europa Cup teams for numerous years and was a highly committed and appreciated person. FIS would like to express its sincere condolences to the family and friends of Michael Sachs.
Aerials World Cup to close out season in Minsk

With the recent announcement that this season’s scheduled aerials World Cup finals in Sierra Nevada, Spain, had been cancelled with no possibility for a replacement, Minsk (BLR), became the de-facto World Cup finals for the second season in a row, with competition upcoming this Saturday in the Belarusian capital.
