

Crans-Montana, Switzerland – After yesterday's bad fortune, there was hope for a good race today as the weather looked more favourable in the morning.

After three straight days of some challenging weather conditions, the second of the weekend’s back-to-back Audi FIS Ski Cross World Cup competitions in Idre Fjall, Sweden, took place under perfect blue skies on a perfectly prepared track on Sunday, with Marielle Thompson (CAN) and Swedish favourite Victor Oehling Norberg taking advantage and claiming the wins to close out a highly successful competition.

Sergey Ustiugov made it a Russian sweep of the top step of the podium in Sweden with his victory today in the 15 km free technique mass start competition.

Daniela Iraschko-Stolz is back in the fight for the overall FIS World Cup Ladies title. After jumping to an unsatisfying 13th place on Saturday, she won the competition on Sunday.

Peter Prevc won the third individual competition in Vikersund and emphasized his dominance impressively. With jumps on 237 m and 249 m and 469.0 points even a fall in the final round could not stop the Slovene

Xuetong Cai (CHN) and Ryo Aono (JPN) have been crowned halfpipe World Cup title winners of the 2015-16 season winning this winter's last halfpipe contest which took place in Sapporo, Japan – seven years after the halfpipe World Cup circuit had stopped by in the land of the rising sun last time (Gujo-Gifu, January 2009).

Therese Johaug of Norway has done what only two other female skiers have done in the history of the FIS World Cup Cross-Country and won 14 competitions in one season.

Today's men's Audi FIS Ski World Cup slalom concludes a very successful event in Yuzawa Naeba. Thanks to the hard work of the Organising Committee and the numerous motivated volunteers, Japan could offer a great experience and an interesting course to the World Cup and its tech teams.
