Clubs want to move ski jumping forward in Sweden

Representatives from ski jumping clubs from all over the country recently met in Falun, host city of the last Nordic Ski World Championships, in order to develop strategies on how to lead this sport in Sweden to a positive future.

Local hero Eric Frenzel proved to be the best athlete in the first individual competition of the summer and claimed the victory in Oberwiesenthal today. In very warm and sunny weather Frenzel had a start-finish victory and ended his race 11.3 seconds earlier than his teammate Johannes Rydzek.

Riders in the FIS Snowboard World Cup Halfpipe had to fight fog and falls in today’s finals at Audi quattro Winter Games NZ 2015 with Japan’s Raibu Katayama and Cai Xuetong from China eventually taking the men’s and women’s titles in a contest characterized by its increasingly high standard of riding.
Double victory for Japan in Hakuba

Kento Sakuyama won a FIS Grand Prix competition for the first time. In front of his home crowd in Hakuba, the Japanese, who was already third on Saturday, won with jumps on 130.5 m and 127 m and 265.2 points ahead of his teammate Taku Takeuchi and Czech Jakub Janda.

The winner of summer’s first Provisional Competition Round comes from Japan. With 105 metres and a total of 135.8 points, Akito Watabe topped the result list ahead of France’s Francois Braud (101 m; 123.9 p.) and local hero Eric Frenzel (100.5 m; 119.8 p.).
