

Summer 2015 has just started but Cross-Country athletes have no time for vacation. The summer training season is in full swing.

In our series "FIS Ski Jumping-Talk" we present interviews with ski jumping athletes and officials. Today: Ulrike Graessler (28), German ski jumper.

Looking at the Norwegian team previously to the 2014/15 season, there were many athletes that came to mind when thinking about potential winners and podium candidates but Jan Schmid was not necessarily among them.

Charlotte Kalla and Calle Halvarsson won mass start competition in Sunne, part of the Inge Braten Memorial in Sunne on Saturday afternoon. Almost 14,000 spectators gathered in Sunne to pay tribute to coach Inge Braten.

The French Nordic Combined team came together for a training camp at Gerardmer in the past week. On schedule: ski jumping, roller-skiing, gymnastics and power training.

The Polish and Czech Nordic Combined teams continued their good cooperation with a couple of joint training sessions during the Czech team’s camp in Szczyrk and in a joint competition in the Czech town of Roznov pod Radhostem.

Everything was looking great for Olympic Champion Jørgen Graabak when he finally took that long-overdue World Cup victory in Val di Fiemme right before the World Championships in Falun but in fact, things were everything but perfect for the 24-year-old.

Once again, the Austrian team followed the invitation of their main sponsor Stiegl and took part in the Ironman competition in Klagenfurt.

Nothing is finally decided yet but the eternally young Benni Raich is not ruling out taking part in the World Championships in St. Moritz, Switzerland in 2017.

The Aateli Race (Nobility Race) traditionally held at the Vuokatti Sports Institute in Sotkamo, Finland has become one of the summer highlights for elite cross-country skiers.
