Sara Takanashi won the first of two World Cup competitions in Sapporo. The overall World Cup winner of Japan took a clear win with jumps on 97 m and 98 m and a total of 249.9 points ahead of Daniela Iraschko-Stolz and Spela Rogelj.

The FIS Development Programme Freestyle Skiing and Snowboard Training Camp 2015 that will take place in Kreischberg (AUT) from 23rd January to 1st February has completed its registration phase.

On 6th January 2015, the IOC welcomed the Candidature Files of Almaty (KAZ) and Beijing (CHN), the two cities bidding to host the 2022 Olympic Winter Games.

For the upcoming edition of World Snow Day, three new nations will join the fun. One of these is Peru.
